The Queen Within... Let no MAN put asunder. Majestically made. Wonderfully created. Crowned at conception. Adorned at birth. Breasts filled with honey. Heart of gold...

Jewels flow from our womb. Our throne is our kingdom, ruled by those who capture our heart and seek our soul.

Rise Queen. Rise. Your power is your throne. The Queen Within... Let NO MAN put asunder!

Ancestral Legacy

6/9/2017

An Ancestral Legacy can be a blessing or a curse. It is predetermined by our predecessors and passed on for future generations. Some revel in a gift bestowed upon birth. The transition from the womb through the birth canal is joyfully received. Your place is secure and waiting. You position is defined. Your title is given and your moniker is assigned. As if an invisible crown is placed upon our head. Those born in such a scenario seem to escalate to higher plains with each generation.

There are others who are predetermined to struggle and strife. These souls devour life with no regard to legacy or succession, thereby dishonoring the spirit, and perpetuating anguish and despair for future generations.

So in a nutshell, your Ancestral Legacy can be a generational curse or generational blessing. You can change the course of either event. The Bible says, "the meek shall inherit the earth." And the Bible also states to whom the earth belongs!

Whether it be biblical inheritance or reincarnation - you ain't going nowhere 'til you get it "right!" 🙏🏾

PEACE

Some of us spend our lives escaping our past. We run towards the future as if our lives depend on it. Searching for sanity and sanctity as we jump hurdles and maneuver obstacles. A race for tranquility and peace in a world full of NOISE. The frequency is overwhelming - my pulse is slowing... Today I'm tired.

Trifecta

Grandma gave me faith and spirituality. His name is Jehovah she would say and with him by your side you will never be alone.

Daddy gave me confidence... you are as smart as any boy and one day you will be smarter than Daddy! At the age of five he taught me how to play and win at chess. At the age of seven he would be gone from my life forever.

Mommy gave me my strength. She taught me to embrace my gender and support our advancement. She shared the ancient history of gold and instructed me to wear gold at all times... even as I sleep!

The Trifecta! They live in me. 🙏🏾

IF YOUR DAUGHTER GIVES YOU GOLD

3/22/2017

Many, many years ago my daughter bought me a 14K gold birthstone ring with part of the money she received for her Sweet 16 celebration. This was not the first expensive gift she has given me, nor will it prove to be the last. Two years earlier this young lady presented me with a beautiful watch she purchased with her Christmas money. I was touched and honored by her generosity and dutifully expressed that these gifts were way too expensive. As a child I remember preforming similar acts of love for my mother.

To this day I remain humbled and amused by this love. This bond that is not based on material things but based on spirituality. This woman of my womb recognizes the woman I am. Although she is certainly a woman in her own right, she still aspires to follow my footsteps. By doing so, in my humble opinion, she has surpassed my mere achievements. In essence, she has and continues to honor the goddess in me as well as herself.

As a parent, you certainly don't judge or compare your children. However, a good parent will study a child's personality and parent according to such.

A daughter is a blessing. A daughter is the incarnation of God's grace... The Daughter that brings you gold is divine.

Whenever I wear my daughter's ring... I feel like Superwoman!

HE'LL PUT YOU THROUGH HELL AND CALL IT LOVE

3/6/2017

It will start very subtle... Honey I love you so much I can't stand being apart. It will progress to Honey you don't need anyone be me. Don't listen to your family, they hate me! Honey, you yourself have said how much your family mistreats you right? Well I'm your family now.

Then you will start to hear how dumb you are from this new family you now have. He will tell you how fat you are, or how unappealing you are to him. How you can never do anything right. If children are involved, he will belittle you in their presence in order to establish dominance and instill fear.

Without realizing when it happened you are now in an abusive situation. Your family and friends are gone and you are totally alienated from your loved ones. What you once thought to be funny and exciting is now dark and scary. You feel alone, and frightened. The pride you once felt is replaced with a sense of humiliation. Your only focus is how not to anger him. How do you keep the peace. You are in emotional turmoil. Emotional abuse.

If it hasn't yet, then just know that the next step is physical abuse which often ends in the victim's death. What's left behind are angry, hostile children who find themselves in the same situation. Not by accident but by learned behavior.

As a mother you have allowed your daughter to witness your acceptance of such abuse thereby condoning and sanctioning it. Your cowardly sufferance communicates to your son that his father's behavior is warranted and valid.

Help is just a call away. Do something. Find your strength and make a difference. There are millions of survivors living wonderful prosperous lives. Just reach out.

Stop the Madness

There is an evil mist among us that has permeated our communities. It's stench wafts through our neighborhoods... We are inundated with images of a struggling nation collapsing in chaos and self-destruction. Reminiscent of the collateral damage of the civil war. The aftermath of this demonic attack will carry to the next millennium. We are blaming one another; we are pointing fingers; we are drawing lines. Did we not see this coming? Did we not sit in movie theaters munching popcorn and watch the big screen? Soylent Green 1973 - Minority Report - 2002... more recently, The Hunger Games. Life does indeed imitate art because the "powers that be" will seductively present their agenda in a guise that is more suitable for your palate... So where am I going with this?

I refused to vote for Trump. I despise both Clintons. I respect my ancestors who died for my right to vote. I voted "green" as a protest vote. I just couldn't bear the thought of voting for the lesser of two "massahs." It hurt my heart to hear my people say that one candidate wouldn't "hurt" us as much as the other candidate... So ultimately I, and others like me, are the reason Trump is in office! WTFudge! This is 2017 people! Lest we not forget!!! Through several democratic and republican administrations, BLACK LIVES MATTER has found its way to the forefront! So... here's where I'm at...

I will not be intimidated for my political views and beliefs, as it is my inherent right as an American to have such. I will continue to serve my God at the church of my choice, with no regard to religious preference, as long as my God is worshiped. I hold to my opinion as an individual with the wherewithal to have such an opinion. Finally, I will never concede anything just to "fit-in" and gain acceptance by anyone.

So, there you have it..,

As I sit down facing my reflection in the mirror, I mindless remove my makeup. My mind drifts back on my day. I hear the sound of his car entering the garage. I grab my robe and make my way to open the door. I stand there watching as he fumbles for a minute and grabs his briefcase. I hold the door as I smile... this classic, elegant man of mine. Black on black coupe. Tailored suit, handmade shoes, designer briefcase. Accentuated with the "purple label" tie I bought him as a birthday gift so long ago... yes, that's right I'm a shameless member of the "bee-hive."

This man of mine. He still makes this old diva's heart skip a beat❤️

Creep

The definition of a "Creep" is an annoying, perverted individual and used most often when describing a man.

A creep presents himself as disenfranchised individual. He lacks history. No family connections. It's he against the world. He is a despicable lowlife who thrives by sucking the life from weak souls.

This is accomplished in many ways. It's slow and deliberate. When it's done you are a shell of your former being. There is an overwhelming sense of void. It's effect lasts a lifetime and touches everyone who loves you.

If your relationship leaves you feeling bullied and seduced at the same time... chances are - you're with a creep.

The Last Laugh!

My biggest pain is my greatest joy! How is it that daughters spend their entire lives figuring how to upstage their mother? From my perspective, they buck hard. They intentionally make life choices counter to every principle provided, yet spend the rest if their lives trying to prove they are in deed your daughters.

They interact with their mates as they have witnessed their mothers handle their fathers. They raise their children with the exact same values as they were raised with - while all along claiming that they have indeed reinvented the wheel!

So here's the punchline - they will always be our "little girls." And.... we get to see OUR mothers' legacy passed down to yet another generation. ❤

Establish Her Eminence and Define Her Kingdom

Tell her stories of HER greatness - not stories of knights in shining armor...

Tell her of her lineage... all the Great Queens before her -

Her regal line - her royal ancestors

Tell her stories of the female warriors that came before her to prepare her place -

Tell her how she owes them - for they are her female race

Tell her to honor her crown and keep it high for this is her power and many will try and take it

Tell her for every precious gem she may lose - her power fades

Tell her to choose her King wisely and not just with her heart - rather

Her legacy depends on her choices

Empower her - never give up on her

Encircle her with wisdom, patience and love ❤️

FENCES - Twenty Nine Years Later

12/30/2016

It's almost the end of 2016 and I am sitting in a movie theater waiting for "Fences" to start. I am extremely excited because my husband and I had the pleasure of attending the original play twenty nine years ago. I was anxious to compare Denzel Washington to James Earl Jones. Both actors played the same role - "Troy." Both actors were phenomenal!

August Wilson presented his play in 1987. I was already 10 years into my marriage and the mother of two adorable little girls ages 6 and 8. I enjoyed a professional career at that time as well. I guess you could say getting away for a couple of hours alone with my husband was indeed a "date night" back then. And what a "date night" it would be. We lived in Northern Virginia back then and we were going to the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC. I remember being ecstatic over the thought of seeing the great James Earl Jones live! I remember watching his every move and laughing out loud from all the Afrocentric jokes. I remember walking away with a sense of pride for black theater. But!! With all that... I missed the message - at 31 years old I was captivated by the experience and missed the message.

Fast forward twenty nine years later... I am sitting in the theater with my husband and I am mesmerized. I am fixated on Denzel the entire movie. I hung on every word and every response to those words. I sat there thinking how did I miss this the first time?! What was going on in my life that would not allow me to "get this?!" Then I realized nothing prevented me but me... As the youth say today, "I wasn't ready" LOL! I hadn't lived long enough to fully comprehend the gravity nor appreciate the message the way it was intended. But twenty nine years later I can honestly say... I GET IT. I grew up knowing each character. They were my family and neighbors. They were friends of my parents. Raynell could have been the little girl sitting across from me in class. These folks are real and "Fences" gave them life. This time I left the theater wiping my eyes.

"Fences" is a flavorful blend of ingredients that masterfully presents a sweet and savory slice of African American life.

And by the way... I need to build a fence around my property! 😏

Stuff Dreams Are Made Of

The Queen is gone and her loyal subjects have scattered. Each one creating their own vision of a story seen through their eyes only. A story once filled with love and happiness now bears remnants of selfishness and envy. A kingdom once woven so tightly that the tiniest snarl would self-mend.

Alas, the Queen is gone. Her successor has been dethroned. The kingdom has vanished. A revenous void has taken its place. A space overcome with struggle and strife; anger, lies and deceit. A place without light.

My heart yearns for my Queen, but her spirit is with me at all times. I have been enlightened by her wisdom. As a new kingdom emerges, her heirs take their rightful positions to ensure a legacy of loyalty and devotion for generations to come.

A kingdom committed to the God.

Thank you Lord for all your care...

Morning Rant - In The Political Sense!

12/9/2016

Good morning America! I recently viewed Fareed Zakaria's CNN presentation: The Barack Obama Legacy. I found it to be fair minded and thought provoking. However, I had a difficult time absorbing the opening comments... Barack Obama was actually not the first African American President of these United States - as he is actually of mixed race... Wait a minute! What the heck! Are you kidding me? Mr. Obama is of African descent, born in America! That qualifies as African American in my book! The way I see it, if one parent is black, regardless of national origin, and the child is born in America - the child is identified as Jewish American; Irish American; Italian American, so forth and so on! Period. When did we start documenting people as "mixed race?" If every American did a DNA swab, how many races would be found? I'd bet we'd all be designated MUTTS! My DNA says I'm 23% European - strong emphasis on Irish! How the heck did that happen?🤔. Every form I've ever filled out requiring race never provided a box for "mixed!" Unfreaking believable! Peace Out America!🙄
