Born Into Anger

Born into anger, is conception during a moment of timelessness. Nothing and no one is in control.

Uncontrollable pleasure.

Uncontrollable violence.

The result is the same - resentment.

Innocence blinds circumstance, as we navigate through life unconsciously apologizing for existing.

We seek validation and strive for conciliation as our souls elevate and prepare for ascension. We secretly know we are here for a purpose and whatever the circumstance of our birth...

We made a difference.

Why I love Beyoncé - Part ll

OMG! Where do I start??? OK let's see... Uhm... She is SMART!!! She is beautiful! She is genuine. But back to smart. A smart woman stirs fear in men. This is why we are considered second class around the world. No matter your ethnicity, gender decides your status in life. Then skin color.

Now here we have a beautiful black woman who figured how to use her gender to her advantage. For those of you old enough to remember Charo, let's just say she was the trailblazer. Then lets acknowledge Tina Turner. Tina left the blueprint for Beyoncé when she walked out on Ike.

For centuries women were and still are used as sexual objects. Wars have been fought over women. We have and continue to be raped and mutilated throughout the world. And in 2016 a woman is still struggling to become President of these United States.

So here we are throwing stones at a woman situated to become only the second black female billionaire in America. She is a wife, mother and a daughter. Now lean in... Pay attention... and get in FORMATION! That's right! This woman took a gamble and placed it all on the line to get the ear of HER people! Guess what people! FORMATION was brilliantly penned as a metaphorical battle cry to alarm the black female. The lyrics were meant for millennials to take stock of their surroundings and prepare to protect what is theirs.

Yes, I love Beyoncé. I may very well be the oldest member of her beehive. She is a creative genius who has the power to affect a nation with a song!

In closing, I'd like to reflect on my perspective of Bey standing there dressed in black and holding up two middle fingers uttering the words Red Lobster. Yaaaas... If you coming for my people you'd better come HARD! Cause after all is said and done... I'll treat you to a one star meal just to let you know... YOU CANT BREAK MY SPIRIT!

My diamond - flawless - my rock - flawless

Boom!

Growing Up Female!

Growing up female in a man's world is living life on the edge. Even in the best scenario, a female will face obstacles and challenges in her life regardless to her culture or social standing. Hers will be a life of invisibility - a second class citizen. Particularly a black female. We are considered second to our men and second to our counterparts as well.

Ever facing this dilemma, we are expected to raise well adjusted, contributing members of society. Given the power of social media and peer pressure, adding lack of family support, this can be a very daunting task. Nearly impossible.

More and more our children are being killed or thrown in jail cells. Mothers tears are flooding our streets. We are blaming ourselves and subjecting ourselves to l ridicule. Our hearts are heavy and our heads are low. Fingers pointed and mouths moving saying... YOU messed up! YOU dropped the ball... WHERE WERE YOU MOTHER?

From the time we arrived off the slave ships!

Dry your tears!

Lift your head!

Heal your heart!

You gave your best-

You did your best-

You were the best!

You can lead a horse to water... You know the rest.

A good teacher will lead a horse to water - a wise teacher will allow the horse to thirst first!

Growing up female, my plan was to give my children all that I never had and then some. But then I realized I never allowed them to thirst!

Take heart my sisters. Believe in yourself and trust in God and then stand back and allow them to grow - You'd be surprised what they can accomplish on their own. If they stumble - pass them a bandaid and stand back.
